PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
for October 2004
|
It has certainly been a whirlwind two months due to our Golf
Tournament, Installation of the 2005 Board and the Annual
Conference in New Orleans. It is now time to get down to the
business of implementing my goals and objectives for 2005 and how I
can best serve our chapter as your President. First, my focus will be
“Our Quest for the Best” in 2005. This simple slogan can be applied to
all facets of our chapter business; however, I will be concentrating on
building membership and promoting professional development within our
organization. It is also my desire to encourage members to become
more involved in our philanthropic and fund raising projects this year
and to generate energy and enthusiasm throughout our chapter
by offering quality programs and professional speakers at our monthly
chapter meetings.
You will see some exciting added features to our PULSE this year
as well as a repeat of our trade show at the Cook Convention Center
in February and Executive Luncheon in April. We are also planning to introduce
some new and special philanthropic events throughout the year that will not only
inspire you to become more involved, but will also let our community know more
about our organization and the women who are serious about giving
back to our great city. Plans are also underway to roll out our new EWI
Memphis website. Ricky Barnett, our chapter Technology Consultant, will
make a presentation and educate us at the November meeting. We will
host another golf tournament next year. We have exceptional additions
and changes within our chapter in this next year.
My serving on the board as Treasurer, Ways and Means, Membership,
Vice President and now President has been a very exciting journey for me.
Serving in these positions has definitely attributed to development
of my leadership skills and enlightened me about the importance of building
strong relationships and utilizing all networking opportunities.
I am eager to begin working closely with all of you and the new board members.
We have much to look forward to and with all the gifted and talented members
in our chapter; I have no doubt that we will exceed all of our expectations.
