PRESIENT'S MESSAGE
for January 2005
|
Based on the personal and written comments I received last month, I believe our Mini-Silent
Auction in December turned out to be a grand affair. The
ambiance and elegant décor of the Madison Hotel
certainly attributed to a very enjoyable evening that was
shared by all who attended this wonderful event. Our
members were very generous with their donations for the
Silent Auction and it resulted in a very successful and
profitable evening as well. To top it off, we had 25 guests
(many of whom were firm executives) that attended our
Silent Auction.
Our Chapter has accomplished
some very challenging and innovative projects in 2004.
We have so much to be proud of. It is without a doubt that
the huge success of our very first golf tournament was the
highlight of the year. Under Peachie Bailey’s leadership and
the teamwork of our members, the success of the
tournament was inevitable. In addition, Lori White has taken
philanthropy to new heights for our chapter. The Reading
Rally at the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home was
extremely gratifying and rewarding. The WKNO Art
Auction quickly followed and we dove straight into a “Tree
Angel” program sponsored by the Salvation Army. These were all very rewarding
accomplishments. We then wrapped up the year with the Mini
Auction at the Madison Hotel. Let us also not forget the Firm
Tradeshow in February and the wonderful Scholarship
presentation in June. What a year to reflect on. To top it off, we
also hired a new technology consultant and rolled out our new
Memphis Chapter website. You all deserve accolades for a job
well done in 2004.
There is much in store for our Memphis Chapter in 2005.
Professional speakers are being lined up for future chapter
meetings and plans are underway for a New Member Reception
and repeat Tradeshow in February. We are planning an Executive
Luncheon in April and of course will be hosting yet another golf
tournament in September. We will also be gearing up for a “big”
silent auction late in the year and will continue to develop and
enhance our Memphis Chapter website in order to provide our
members quick access to chapter news and to keep our chapter
aligned with the newest technology available. Our chapter is
definitely on the right track to achieving “Our Quest for the
Best” in 2005.
I am very excited about our plans for 2005 and look forward to
working hand-in-hand with each and every one of you this year.
Based on our accomplishments in 2004, I have no doubt that we
will “exceed our expectations” in 2005.
