WOW, if you missed the March Birthday Celebration, you missed a FUNTASTIC time!!!! Our meeting room at the Crescent Club was decorated with balloons, party hats, favors, colorful “50” confetti, even party favors!!!! There were so many beautifully wrapped presents we needed two tables. Not only did we have a party, we took a trip down memory lane with a videotape Sherry Fields provided for our enjoyment during dinner. After dinner, Ron Childers, Emmy award winning News Channel 5 meteorologist provided us with an entertaining talk about how he became a meteorologist. His life journey has been full of interesting twists, especially the reason behind the five years he rode his bicycle everywhere!!! Thank you, Martha Vanzant, for sharing your handsome nephew with us for the evening! Thank you, Lisa Cline, for offering to host our chapter at The Crescent Club and the delicious meal that was served. And… thank you to the Programs Committee for all your efforts in making it an evening the entire group thoroughly enjoyed.

A few items of business…..

• Corporate is sending out a “EWI Weekly Corporate Update” – an email packed full of memos, reminders and updates on EWI activities. Be sure to read each one with attention to detail.
• FELLOWS scholarships are now available to EWI members with at least one year of active membership who are admitted to accredited baccalaureate, graduate, or post graduate programs with financial needs based emphasis. April 30, 2008 is the deadline for applications with supporting materials. All applications should be sent to the Corporate office. Please contact them with any additional questions.
• We need the support and assistance of the ENTIRE chapter to make this event a SUCCESS!!! Expect to receive a phone call from one of the committee chairs!
• On a local level, our Representative of the Year deadline is May 31, 2008. Everyone is encouraged to apply.
• Did you see the EWI Memphis article in the March issue of Memphis Woman Magazine?
• Before the April chapter meeting, the Membership committee will host a Membership Blitz. Let’s support the efforts of this committee by coming early and talking up the great opportunities EWI has to offer!
