2007 ASIST RECIPIENTS
|
Executive Women International® brings together key individuals from diverse businesses for the purpose of:
- promoting member firms
- enhancing personal and professional development
- encouraging community involvement
With all three of these missions in mind we choose to help others excel by assisting them with efforts in changing their lives. This is one of the most important missions of EWI. Through the ASIST program, the Adult Students in Scholastic Transition Scholarships, which is an arm of the corporate business, career, and development program of Executive Women International, the Memphis Chapter is proud to provide three $3,000 scholarships this year.

The Memphis Chapter of Executive Women International has awarded three scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each to these three students from the Baptist College of Health Sciences.
The awardees are:
Deborah Segerson
Daphne Norris
Desiree Rhodes
In addition, Ms. Segerson has been selected by our Judges as the Memphis Chapter’s nominee for the national level of ASIST Scholarship competition.
This year’s outside judges included Elizabeth Tate, Shelby County Community Services Agency and Margaret Ware, Retired Principal from Grahamwood Elementary School.

Deborah Segerson
Deborah was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She is currently attending Baptist College of Health Sciences to obtain her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After graduation in December 2009, she hopes to obtain a job as a Registered Nurse within a neonatal unit. She has been married for 13 years and has three children. She enjoys reading, swimming and spending time with her family. Deborah will go on to represent our Memphis Chapter on the International level.

Daphne Norris
Daphne is a junior nursing student at Baptist College of Health Sciences. In 2004, she decided to change her career path and return to school and pursue a nursing degree. She previously received her business degree from the University of Mississippi and worked as a retail manager for eight years. She is currently a full time student and works as a customer service representative for Sedgwick CMS. Her ultimate goal is to pursue a degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She enjoys walking, crocheting, baking, reading, and most of all fellowshipping with her family and friends.

Desiree Elaine Rhodes
Desiree was born in Memphis, TN and grew up in Horn Lake, MS. She went to Northwest Community College in Southaven from 2004 to 2006. While there she had a 3.5 GPA and worked 40 hours a week at Fire Mountain Restaurant. She has a son, Gage Rhodes, who is her pride and joy. She works every day toward her goal of working in the field of sonography, an ultra-sound based diagnostic imaging technique. She is very goal-oriented and is committed to achieving her goals.
